What comes with our 100 Series Windows

Best Value

The frame is Andersen’s Fibrex composite, finished inside and out, so there is no wood to stain and no paint to keep up. That makes it an easy fit for rental and resale homes and for anyone doing every window at once.

Of the four Andersen lines we install, the 100 Series is the value option. The 400 Series adds a real wood interior, the A-Series adds architectural style options, and the E-Series is built to order. If you want clean, low-maintenance windows throughout the house and do not need wood inside, the 100 Series is usually where we start the conversation.

  • Low-maintenance composite frame. No painting or scraping
  • Slim frames mean more glass and more daylight
  • A practical choice for whole-home replacement projects

Installing and caring for 100 Series Windows

The Fibrex frame is the reason it works here. It does not need painting, it holds up to Texas sun better than basic vinyl, and it is narrow enough to give you more glass.

Installing a 100 Series window is the most straightforward of the four lines. We pull the old sash and frame, check the opening for rot, then set the Fibrex unit, shim it square, flash it into the wall and seal it inside and out. Because the interior is a finished surface rather than wood, there is no staining or painting afterward, just the trim going back. On Blackland clay the openings drift out of square over the years, so we measure every one on site and correct for it.

On a 100 Series job the price mostly tracks the number of openings and their size. After that come the window style (a casement or picture unit prices differently than a single-hung), glass choices, and any exterior color other than the standard ones. The one variable we can’t see until the old window is out is rotten framing, and we price that separately if we find it.

100 Series Windows: common questions

Fibrex is Andersen’s composite: reclaimed wood fiber bound in polymer. It holds its shape in Texas heat better than vinyl, which softens and can bow on a wide west-facing opening, and it lets the frame be narrower for the same strength, so you get more glass and less frame.

On average our installation teams complete window installations within 2 to 4 days once your windows arrive. Custom-built windows take time to manufacture after measuring.

Customers regularly report noticeably lower summer cooling costs and a quieter house. Savings depend on what you’re replacing. Single-pane aluminum windows show the biggest change.

Yes. Where your city requires one, we file it and deal with the inspection.

Homeowners replacing most or all of their windows who want a durable, no-paint frame at a sensible price, and who are happy with a finished interior instead of stainable wood. Rental and resale homes are a common fit too.

Wash the glass and frame with mild soap and water, keep weep holes at the bottom of the frame clear, and check the exterior caulk line every year or so. There is nothing to paint.

Before You Commit to 100 Series Windows

  • Settle the frame color early. The frame color is chosen when the windows are ordered, so match it to the trim and roof before signing.
  • Look at the widest west-facing openings. That is where frame stiffness shows. It is also where the composite frame earns its place over vinyl.
  • Price a mix as well as one series. Some homes use 100 Series across most of the house and a higher series on the front elevation or one feature opening. It is worth pricing both ways.

How does a 100 Series window project run?

  1. 1

    A free measure and estimate

Every opening is measured individually, because a house rarely has two identical ones. You see the series options side by side and get a firm written estimate.

  2. 2

    Built to your openings

Andersen builds the units to those measurements, so the installers are not shimming a stock size into a hole it does not fit.

  3. 3

    Installed and sealed

Our own crews set, flash and seal each unit, then trim inside and out.

  4. 4

    Walkthrough and warranty

We check operation and locks on every window with you, clean up, and hand over the manufacturer warranty alongside ours on the installation.
