What comes with our A-Series Windows
Architectural
The difference shows in the details: frame proportions, sightlines, grille patterns and hardware that look right for the style of the house, plus a much wider range of exterior colors than the standard lines.
Think of the Andersen lines as a ladder. The 100 Series is the practical composite window, the 400 Series adds a wood interior, the A-Series adds architectural design range, and the E-Series is fully built to order. The A-Series is for houses where the style of the window really matters: a Craftsman, a Prairie, a Colonial or a modern build where proportions and grilles have to look right.
- Designed around defined architectural styles
- Extensive exterior color and interior wood options
- Custom shapes and sizes for non-standard openings
Installing and caring for A-Series Windows
We usually recommend it for the front elevation or a whole house with a defined style. On a mixed project, some homeowners use A-Series where it shows and a simpler line elsewhere, as long as the looks line up.
A-Series projects start earlier than most. Because the point is matching a style, we spend more time on design before ordering: grille patterns, sightlines, hardware finishes and how each window lines up with the others on the elevation. On install day the steps are familiar (remove, inspect, set square, flash, seal, trim), but we take more care lining up grilles and trim across a run of windows, since that alignment is what the style depends on.
Compared with a 100 Series job, the A-Series price is driven far more by choices than by count: exterior color, interior wood and finish, grille pattern, hardware, and any special shapes. Two houses with the same number of windows can price very differently depending on how much of that design range they use. Framing repairs behind old units are priced separately.
A-Series Windows: common questions
It is if the look matters. A-Series matches specific architectural styles with correct proportions, sightlines and hardware, and offers far more exterior colors. Structurally both are excellent; you are paying for the design range and the finish options.
On average our installation teams complete window installations within 2 to 4 days once your windows arrive. Custom-built windows take time to manufacture after measuring.
Customers regularly report noticeably lower summer cooling costs and a quieter house. Savings depend on what you’re replacing. Single-pane aluminum windows show the biggest change.
Yes. Where your city requires one, we file it and deal with the inspection.
Sometimes. We’ll show you the two side by side so you can see whether the frame profiles and colors match closely enough before you commit.
Before You Commit to A-Series Windows
- Start from the style of the house. Name the architecture first, whether Craftsman, farmhouse, Tudor or contemporary, and let the proportions, sightlines and hardware follow from it.
- Sample colors against the brick and stone. The wider color range is only an advantage if the choice is made outdoors, in daylight, next to the materials already on the house.
- Order early. Configured units take longer to build than standard sizes, so settling the design early keeps the schedule.

Built to your openings
Andersen builds the units to those measurements, so the installers are not shimming a stock size into a hole it does not fit.
- 3
Installed and sealed
Our own crews set, flash and seal each unit, then trim inside and out.
- 4
Walkthrough and warranty
We check operation and locks on every window with you, clean up, and hand over the manufacturer warranty alongside ours on the installation.
