A siding package is a bundle of siding, trim and installation sold as one job. You can buy one from a remodeling contractor, a supplier plus an installer, or a manufacturer’s network. American Eagle Builders sells siding, not roofing, so we do not offer roofing packages and say so plainly.

The short answer
- A siding package should list tear-off, sheathing repair, wrap, flashing, panels, trim and cleanup.
- American Eagle Builders does not sell roofing packages, and it does not replace roofs.
- Roofing is usually done before siding, and both companies should agree who flashes the joint.
- Compare the lines in each estimate, not only the total at the bottom.
- Do not sign under pressure after a storm, and get more than one estimate.
People search for roofing and siding packages because they want one visit, one price and one crew. It is a reasonable wish. The trouble is that roofing and siding are two different trades, and the honest answer starts by saying so. This post is about the siding half, and it says plainly what we do and do not sell.
Where can you buy siding packages in Texas?
There are three routes. You can hire a remodeling contractor who supplies and installs the siding, you can buy materials from a building supplier and hire an installer yourself, or you can go through a manufacturer’s network of installers. Each works. They differ in who is responsible when something goes wrong.
A siding package is a bundle of siding panels or boards, trim and the labor to install them, sold as one job. The word package can also mean only the materials, so ask which one you are being offered. The label tells you nothing until you read what is in it.
| Route | What you get | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Remodeling contractor | Materials and installation in one estimate | Check what the estimate lists and what it leaves out |
| Building supplier plus your own installer | Materials you choose, labor from someone else | You coordinate two parties and carry the risk of mismatches |
| Manufacturer’s installer network | A crew trained on that brand | Limited to one product line, and you should still check scope |

Does American Eagle Builders sell roofing and siding packages?
No. American Eagle Builders does not sell roofing packages. We are a family-owned exterior remodeler in Arlington, working across Dallas-Fort Worth since 1984, and we install siding, windows, doors, patio covers, sunrooms and insulation. The siding we install is insulated vinyl, standard vinyl and James Hardie fiber cement. We do not replace roofs.
We would rather say that now than let you find out later. If your roof needs work, ask a roofer. If your siding does, we are glad to help. Many homeowners need both after a spring hailstorm, and the two jobs can be coordinated even when two companies do them.
What should a siding package include?
A good siding package covers the whole wall, not only the panels. Look for each line below on the estimate. Anything missing is either not included or hidden in a vague line, so ask. You are looking for scope, not just a total.
- Tear-off of the old siding and disposal of the debris.
- Inspection and repair of soft or damaged sheathing.
- House wrap and flashing at every window, door and penetration.
- The siding itself, named by product and color.
- Trim, corner posts, and finish at windows and doors.
- Soffit and fascia, if they are in scope.
- Cleanup, a final walkthrough and written warranty papers.
Read the warranty before you sign. Manufacturers often ask that siding be installed to their instructions, so check what installation they expect. The Polymeric Exterior Products Association has an installation manual and a certified installer program for vinyl.
How do you coordinate roofing and siding on one house?
Plan the order and the handoffs. In general, the roof is done first, because roof work can scuff or damage new siding, and the roof-to-wall joints must be flashed to shed water. Ask both companies who is responsible for those joints, and get the answer in writing.
- Get the roof and siding looked at by qualified people, and ask what each finds.
- Decide the order. Roofing first is common, with siding after, unless a wall is leaking.
- Ask both companies who flashes where the roof meets the wall.
- Share the schedule so the crews do not arrive on top of each other.
- Walk both jobs at the end and check the joint between them.

How do you compare package offers fairly?
Compare the lines, not the totals. Two offers can look alike and differ by what each covers. Put them side by side, confirm the same materials, trim, tear-off and repairs, and ask what happens if rot turns up behind the old siding. A clear answer on that point is a sign of an honest estimate.
Check credentials too. NARI is a trade association for professional remodelers, and American Eagle Builders lists NARI among its accreditations, along with EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm, VSI Certified Vinyl Siding Installer and Qualified Remodeler. Ask any contractor to name theirs, and ask who will be on your property.
Be careful with sales pressure after a storm. After a big hailstorm, door-to-door offers are common in Dallas, Plano and Fort Worth. Take your time, get more than one estimate and do not sign under pressure. Our posts on hiring an exterior remodeling company and questions to ask before signing help.
Does a bundle save money?
Not automatically. A bundle can save you the trouble of coordinating, and some companies price a combined job with that in mind. It does not mean a lower total, and a package that adds work you do not need is not a deal. Ask for the siding on its own as well, then compare the two.
How do you start on the siding half?
Start with an in-home visit. We offer free in-home estimates across DFW. We look at what is behind the siding as far as we can, measure the walls and explain your options. See our siding page and our home exteriors work, and read the best time for siding installation when you are ready to plan a date.
Questions we get asked about this
No. American Eagle Builders does not sell roofing packages or replace roofs. We install siding, windows, doors, patio covers, sunrooms and insulation across Dallas-Fort Worth. If you need a roof, ask a roofer, and we can coordinate the siding around that work.
A siding package is a bundle of siding, trim and installation sold as one job. Some sellers use the word to mean materials only, so ask what is included. Look for tear-off, sheathing repair, wrap, flashing, panels, trim, cleanup and warranty papers on the estimate.
Roofing is usually done first, because roof work can scuff or damage new siding, and the roof-to-wall joints have to be flashed. If a wall is leaking, it may need attention sooner. Ask both contractors who is responsible for the joints between them.
Not necessarily. Buying materials yourself leaves you to coordinate, check quantities and handle mismatches. Warranty terms may depend on how the siding is installed. Compare a contractor’s full estimate with the materials plus labor you would arrange yourself, and look at what each covers.
Compare what each estimate lists, ask for credentials by name, and read the warranty. Check that wrap, flashing and trim are included. Be careful with door-to-door offers after storms. Get more than one estimate, and do not sign under pressure.
